Replacement of County Bridge F1303

  • Client: Somerset County, NJ
  • Location: Borough of Bernardsville, NJ

Project Overview

Our design team provided various services for the replacement of Meeker Road over Mine Brook built in 1973 that was classified as structurally deficient due to its low inventory and operating rating, poor condition of the superstructure, and scouring of the abutments.

Our services encompassed a broad range of crucial tasks, starting with conducting a thorough alternatives analysis to recommend the most suitable structural type. We worked closely with geotechnical engineers to ensure the alignment of our designs with the local geological conditions. Our responsibilities extended to the design of both the superstructure and substructure elements, focusing on enhancing structural integrity, improving load-bearing capacity, and ensuring long-term durability.

In addition, we meticulously crafted contract documents, including contract plans that met the stringent standards set forth by Somerset County and the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), to guarantee the project’s compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements.
