Our team provided design services for the MTAPD District 9 police facility in Staten Island, NY. This entailed designing a new 10,000 square foot building within the existing 3-acre Staten Island Railway Complex, adhering to ADA compliance standards. The facility includes offices, locker rooms, restrooms, holding cells, booking and arrest processing areas, as well as mechanical and electrical rooms. To achieve LEED certification, we incorporated green design elements.
To address stormwater management, we devised an underground detention system that kept the system above the groundwater table, minimizing the need for extensive dewatering during construction. Additionally, we collaborated with utility agencies to establish new site connections. We also designed site access and a new parking lot to maximize parking spaces and meet the circulation requirements set by the MTA Police.
