Facility and Parking Upgrades for Maplewood Bus Garage

Project Overview

We serve as the Engineer of Record overseeing all civil aspects of the NJ Transit Maplewood Bus Facility and Parking Project, which includes the design of a surface parking lot featuring an elevated office space for NJ Transit.

Our responsibilities encompassed creating demolition plans, designing the parking lot layout, managing grading, drainage, stormwater systems, pavement striping, signage, and utility design, including utility relocation. We also facilitated the provision of a temporary off-site parking area capable of accommodating 220 passenger vehicles during the construction phase.

To ensure a seamless design process, our team collaborated closely with structural, MEP, and Geotechnical design experts to mitigate any potential design conflicts. In addition, we liaised with local utility agencies and NJDEP to manage the relocation of on-site utilities and navigate the permit procurement process for site connections and stormwater management.
