Lighting Design for Various Parking Lots at John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK)

  • Client: Port Authority of New York & New Jersey
  • Location: Queens, NY

Project Overview

Our team was commissioned by the Port Authority NY NJ to design a fully solar-powered lighting system for the Aqueduct, Federal Circle, and Delta parking lots at JFK Airport. This innovative lighting system operates independently of the grid.

Our scope of work encompasses the development of a comprehensive commissioning process, including the creation of a commissioning schedule and procedures. We are responsible for conducting tests, balancing, calibrating, and interpreting the commissioning results. Once completed, the Federal Circle lighting will meet the criteria for Envision Sustainable Development Silver certification. Additionally, both the Aqueduct and Delta parking lots will feature a guard booth powered by a methanol generator. These installations will qualify for Envision Sustainable Development Gold certification upon completion.
