Replacement of Bruckner Expressway

Project Overview

As part of the design-build team we provided structural design services and topographic survey on the Bruckner Viaduct Deck Replacement Project, with the overall goal to replace the existing deck on the Bruckner Expressway from East 141st Street to the intersection with the Major Deegan Expressway and RFK Bridge.

Our structural design efforts included the design of precast deck panels for the deck replacement, the design of steel sign structures both founded on drilled shafts and attached to existing bridges, and the support of the post-design shop drawing review. Our staff used survey and record drawings to prepare comprehensive composite existing utility and drainage plans. We designed modifications to drainage on Bruckner Boulevard to tie-in the Bruckner Expressway drainage to the sewer system.
